Creating art with circles
This morning we created art by using circle shapes. If you look very carefully at our drawings you will see most are created with circles. You can even see tiny circles in our picture frames.
With circles we can create lots of different pictures.

Reading
Reading in class
We are practising our reading skills in class. We are learning to sound out words and read with fluency. We can look at the pictures to help us with clues as to what is happening in the book.
We can retell stories by using our memory skills and by writing our own stories.

Creative learning
This week we have been creative
with our planning, writing, and
our art.
Some of the children will rejoin
our class at school and some
will carry on with our distance
and zoom meet ups.
No matter what we are all learning
together!

Blog by Ms Charli
Kia ora everyone, Ms. Charli here.
Another great day of zoom lessons. Thank you to the children who came along and who have been sharing their work on Class Dojo.
This morning we read about Greedy Cat and learnt about rhyming words in the story before dancing to the Freeze song. This afternoon we read about how we are all different and discussed border design ideas for the family portrait school house challenge. The school house challenge involves the children drawing or taking a family portrait to remember 2021. For more information see the Term 4, Week 4 Plan on the class site link.
Tomorrow we are going to learn about animals who live on a farm through a guided reading activity. See you there!
Ngā mihi,
Ms. Charli.

Blog from Ms Charli our student teacher:
Kia ora everyone, it was great to connect with many of the students today. This morning we had a jump around and practiced our writing skills with a Diwali theme. Then this afternoon we created Mehndi and Rangoli patterns followed by a story about Rama and Sita and the story of Diwali. The activity booklet posted earlier today has lots of different reading and writing activities for the students to engage with and also reinforces their learning from this week. The Maths activity focuses on shapes in a Rangoli pattern. I look forward to more teaching experiences next week! Here are the links from todays zoom sessions.
